Chengdu, a set on Flickr.

A leisurely weekend in Chengdu following a business trip to one of my clients. Visited Chengdu's Panda Base, Shua Du Bar Street and Wenshu, Chengdu's largest Buddhist Temple.

Did you know that the duration of a Panda pregnancy is highly variable (between 3 and 10 months!)? And that pretty much all pandas are born premature, weighing around 100g, which is only 1/1000th of their mum's weight? That's less than the average pack of sugar! Hmmmmm.. I wonder how those tiny hairless pink creatures manage to survive, grow up and turn into massive (though still cute-looking) bears. The wonders of nature :)
